This article is the first of a series introducing each of the successful in-plant panelists on the PRINT 13 "Empowered In-plants: Tell-All Success Stories from the Field," panel I'll be moderating on September 9th. The session features in-plant leaders in Insurance, Higher Education, Healthcare and Government.
Introducing: Mike Lincoln, Operations Manager of IDS, State of Colorado
Mike Lincoln is the State of Colorado Operations Manager of Integrated Document Solutions (IDS). With over 30 years of experience in the printing industry, coupled with his extensive customer relations background, he has brought a new level of service and quality to IDS and the State of Colorado.
Named 2012 Mail Center of the Year by the In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA), Integrated Document Solutions is a full-service integrated print and mail operation, handling the majority of the state's offset and digital printing, as well as graphic design, IT printing, mailing, and secure document storage. IDS, the fourth largest government in-plant by sales, has 67 employees in two locations, operating with a $15 million annual budget, printing over 85 million impressions annually and mailing about 2.5 million pieces monthly.
Equipment at the in-plant includes an impressive range of digital black and white and color printers, small format offset presses, inserters, and sorters. Software used includes RSA's QDirect for output management, routing, and job management.
Tell All Secret: "Quality First" IDS has undergone some amazing transformations in recent years. Lincoln commented, "We have established a position of relevance, and are no longer viewed as the mailroom, but rather a key strategic partner to all of our customers…" According to Lincoln, it is their "Quality First" culture that is the secret. Establishing a culture that stresses providing customers with high-quality and cost-effective solutions has been instrumental to the growth and improvements implemented by Lincoln and his team. Attend the "Empowered In-plants: Tell-All Success Stories from the Field," session to lean more of the State of Colorado's success secrets.
